ProvidentLiving.org is a great non-profit self-reliance resource provided by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Family Finances section is particularly noteworthy, for people who affiliate with the Church and don't affiliate with the Church alike.
There are a lot of lesson materials and additional resources. I'll periodically update this site with some of the essentials presented on the site, but I'd highly recommend looking around yourself as well.
